Male dominance over women in the world is apart of he curse that humans received when we fell at the beginning. When Adam and Eve sinned God eventually gave them punishments for what they had done. Adam got men the curse of having to fight with the land to get it to grow and produce good things. To Eve He gave the curse of PAIN in childbearing, and also to be dominated by man. Genesis 3 is the passage of the Bible that describes the fall of humans and the curses that God gave them for disobeying Him. Apart of the curse of the fall was male dominance over females. That is not how our world was intended. So when people say men have the right to be more powerful and ruler over women they are talking about a curse from the original sin that humans committed. Men and women are supposed to be on equal footing and they are both humans and loved by God. God originally intended for Adam to tell Eve what was right and wrong because he was created first and she was second. That order did not originally mean for her to be inferior to him in any way. They were equals and made for each other. Man was not originally superior, that only came after sin. So the view almost every culture has of male dominance is from a fallen and sinful state of our planet. As Christians we should be trying our hardest to get our places back on track to what God originally intended for male and female alike, to be equal. Women should be able to do the same things as men and men the same as women. That does not mean that women should try to put dominance over men like men have done to women. Men and women alike should be fighting for things to be equal among the genders. I don't really know how to go about that but having lower pay just because of being a woman is definitely not equal. I have never had a high enough paying job to be on that unequal footing yet but I might eventually, and I do know that it happens because the highest paid woman is definitely not as high paid as a man in a high paying job. So we should try to make our world equal like it was supposed to be. Men and woman both equal and strong and loving God.
People use scripture all the time to back up reasons why women are inferior to men, because women weren't allowed to talk in church or be leaders, but that is reasoning coming from the sin of the fall. IT is just as wrong for them back then to believe that way as it is for us now to think that way. There were still women in the Bible that were leaders but not nearly as many as there were as men leaders. When the Christian church came about it was women who informed the male disciples that Jesus had risen. Women are important just like men are important, but apart of our curse was the be lower than men because we have sin.
Male dominance is from the original curse from the first sin and that is why it is not right to say that is how historically we have always had male dominance so that is how it should stay. There is no reason to keep the male dominated world male dominated, because that is not how it should be. Please do not take that as saying that the world should be female dominated. We are to rule together over the earth and animals as equals.
