School Life

I'm in English class talking about "A Modest Proposal" and it is one of the weirdest things I have ever read. Ireland was so super prejudiced and they died so much because of the British. Why did the British Empire not care about the places they conquered. Can't they just love people. This is so old but still so relevant. Especially since our American government right now is trying to take away any free will have as a country and citizens. Maybe go read "A Modest Proposal" and learn from it's satire. It is a satirical essay about the state of Ireland when Britain had taken over and taken all their land. When there was a famine England still wanted their surplus amount of food, while Irish lost 1/4 of its people to death. Another 1/4 went to America, that is why we have so many Irish in America.
A Modest Proposal is by Jonathan Swift, the same guy who wrote Gulliver's Travels, also a satire about the government.
